Note:
I really wanted to see ‘This Lingering Life‘, however I was concerned my safety in the most Dangerous Blocks  in the night – (Hispanic street gangs. Get off BART at 16th/Mission, then walk 8 blocks).  I decided not to go

Synopsis:
Inspired by nine Japanese Noh plays — In This Lingering Life we meet a woman with tragic hair, feudal warriors, a mother whose son was kidnapped, dead lovers who meet across the Milky Way, a boy whose father is an arrow, and so forth. On and on for eons. It’s that kind of a world. It’s that kind of a life. And we all live it. This new tragicomedy is an elegant romp across the borders of time, geography, the world of the living and dead that ponders gods, miracles, and deep, comic, and ugly human emotions found in the theater of life and death.

This Lingering Life looks at the human conditions through the Buddhist concept of Karma: we all exist in a complex web of relationships, determined by emotions and actions from previous lives.

It was presented by Theatre Yugen.
Yūgen is said to mean “a profound, mysterious sense of the beauty of the universe… and the sad beauty of human suffering”.
