Time marches on

March 2017 Time marches on

I can feel the spring warmth, my mood is more uplifting nowadays.
I remember Greek philosopher Socrates once said: “My advice to you is get married: if you find a good wife you’ll be happy; if not, you’ll become a philosopher.” That is true! When I was unhappy with depression my brain was so busy spinning with many thoughts, and yet I was more analytical, creative, and philosophical. Of course, there were times I often experienced “The windmills of your mind.”

My old friend Rose has departed from earth this month. She and I are the same age. We experienced similar hardships in America. She was a strong willed person, I thought she will conquer cancer. Unfortunately, she lost.
Now I am aged (my health status is fine) I like the quote by Chinese novelist Mo Yan:
“Where there’s life, death is inevitable. Dying’s easy; it’s living that’s hard. The harder it gets, the stronger the will to live. And the greater the fear of death, the greater the struggle to keep on living.”

Time marches on. We are all getting older. So, I am going to live a little longer. Be silly. Be kind. Be weird. There’s no time for anything else.

    • Hi, Rich,
I never met you – you are my online psychologist with the proper credential.
You helped me to seek professional help. I guess it was the end of the year 2012?
How fast time passes by. I’m glad that we are still able to communicate each other.
I really hope you are healthy and keep helping your patients.

      – a lot of respect
